The ATM program is designed to prepare students with the tools, training, and education necessary to tackle critical research problems in the atmospheric sciences today. Ourfacultyare experts in a wide range ofresearch areas, including tropical meteorology, climate dynamics, cloud and aerosol processes, and atmospheric chemistry. Requirements
The most competitive ATM applicants have a strong foundation in the physical sciences and a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in physics, mathematics, chemistry, meteorology, atmospheric science, or other related sciences. Applicants must take the GRE, and those whose first language is not English must pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of at least 550. A background in scientific programming is preferred though not required.
Funding Opportunities
The majority of Ph.D. students are supported as Graduate Research Assistants during their tenure (typically 5 years). You can find more information on stipends, tuition, and health insurance.
